Watercoloured Poppies

Poppies are such a true sign that Spring has arrived and hopefully here to stay.  The poppies I grow in my garden are more pink but I love how these turned out so vibrant and fresh looking.
I am playing along with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast and also the Wonders of Watercolouring at Moxie Fab.  Anyone that follows my blog knows how much I love to play with this watercolouring technique as it is so easy and gives such wonderful results.
I coloured my poppy stamp using shades of red Memento markers and then sprayed with water before stamping.  That's it.
Have a great week and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Peace

It's Tuesday and NO, you are not seeing blurry!  Since my supply of sympathy cards has been depleted, I took the time to create a card and play along with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast and the challenge at Moxie Fab; The wonders of watercolouring.  My card is all about the sunrise which we all really need right now here in Ontario after such a mixed bag of weather this Spring.

I started by masking the center area then stamped the flowers and then without re-inking stamped them again moving them slightly to the right to give a shadow effect.  Next, using Distress inks, I watercoloured the flowers and then sponged on the yellow, added the sentiment and the doodled border.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Garden Bliss

Welcome to the weekend!  I am still trying to get back on my feet and be functional so I can play along with some of the great challenges out there.  Today, I am playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast and here is what I came up with.  I am also adding this to the Moxie Fab challenge; The Wonders of Watercolours and the CAS-ual Fridays challenge; birthday bash.

Since I love to play with my markers and inks, watercolour stamping is so up my alley.  I love the colour variations you can achieve so simply. So I started by creating the background using a stamp from WPlus9.  I put Distress inks onto a non-stick pad then sprayed with water and used that as my ink pad.  For the hollyhocks, I coloured them using my Memento markers then sprayed with water before stamping.  The sentiment is from Penny Black.
Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.

A Special Moment

'Enjoy the moment'.....that speaks to me.  I think we get so busy in our everyday life that we forget about what is happening right now.  One of my favourite techniques to play with is sponging.  I made a card similar to this so decided to use that design for this card.  I am playing in two challenges today; one is the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoast and the Ombre Challenge in the Moxie Fab World
I masked the side of my card then started with the lightest colour of Distress inks that I have near the bottom of my card and gradually started adding more blues until I finished at the top with the darkest blue I had overlapping them and blending together.  I did add a bit of green at the bottom as well.  The trees are from Northwoods stamps; they have such a majestic feel to them.  The sentiment is from Daisy Bucket.  I finished it off by sprinkling water onto the blue and then adding the scoring lines and the twine.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look and hope you have a great weekend..

Polka Dot Sprigs and Vibrant Colours

Happy Sunday...sure hope you are enjoying your weekend.  It goes by too quickly doesn't it??  Today, I am featuring 2 cards I made for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast and the challenges going
on at Moxie Fab...create a window card.
Here is what I did.  I created the main panel by using drawing circles with my Copics and then adding alcohol to blend.  I then stamped the new Polka Dots Sprig from Penny Black with black Memento ink..love polka dots. I cut a window using a square Spellbinders die so it would look like the piece is framed. I pop dotted the main image inside the window cutout and added the sentiment Thanks a Bunch.

Here is the second one I made but I am entering this one in the Moxie Fab; create your own Background.
Still playing with my Copic markers, I coloured a grid pattern on my cs then dropped blending fluid drips to leave an impression. I then went back when the piece was dry, and stamped the Hillflowers from Penny Black and embossed them in black. I added twine for a simple card.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look today.

Blue Blocking

Hi there.  Here is a card I made for the CAS challenge today at Splitcoast; based on a sketch.  I was playing with my distress inks again and created the bkg. by inking up my acrylic block with blues, spraying with water and randomly stamped it being sure to overlap areas...re-inked it every time.  I added a swipe with my ink pad directly to my card front, mounted the flowers and added the sentiment.
I am also adding my card to the challenge at Moxie Fab; Create Your Own Background Paper.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Simple Pleasures

Hope you are enjoying a great weekend.  Today, I am posting a very quick and easy card I made using my new Die-namics snowflake....it is so fun.  I took my Distress ink pad (Peacock Feathers) and applied it directly to my card front to make the swipe.  Love how it turned out.  I stamped the sentiment from Penny Black called
Softer and Kinder then pop dotted my snowflake on top.
I am adding my card to the challenge at Moxie Fab....Make Your Own Background Paper and to the challenge at CASology...Winter.
Take care and thanks so much for visiting.

Blocked in Blue

Welcome to the weekend.  I am playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast today.  I want to show you the pillow that inspired me:
Here is what I did to create my card.  I started by inking up my acrylic block with Distress inks, sprayed with water and then stamped the middle square. I masked that square then stamped around it using the same technique.
When it was dry, I added the hollyhocks and the sentiment embossed in white.
I am adding my card to the challenge at Moxie Fab...Make Your Own Background Paper and to the challenge at Addicted to CAS...Embossed.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Many Thanks

Here is today's card as I am playing along with the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast and the Repetition challenge at Moxie Fab.  This card came together quickly and I was pleased with the final results.  I stamped the spools then cut them out so I could wrap the twine around them.  Added them over the dots for interest and the sentiment I had in my stash works great with these images.
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday and thanks so much for dropping by.

You're the Bees Knees

How can you not be happy....it's Friday!  Here is my card for 3 challenges today; the Free for All challenge at Splitcoast, the challenge at Simon Says Stamps and the hexagon challenge at Moxie Fab.
The bkg. is made using a mask by the Crafter's Workshop that I sponged  Distress ink onto then added the yellow swipe and the sentiment.  The little bee is from Recollections...isn't he the cutest?
Hope you can 'bee happy' today.

Just another masculine card as I am playing along with three challenges today...the CAS challenge at Splitcoast is to add twine to your card; Moxie Fab is to create a Birthday card and CAS-ual Fridays...Let's Strip.  I am really having fun playing with these new stamps from The Craft's Meow.  I masked the center area, sponged on Distress inks and then overstamped.  Lastly I added the scored lines and the twine.

Flowers of Thanks

Here is a card I made using stamps from Paper Smooches and Penny Black.  The sentiment is stamped then masked so the flowers from Petal Party set could be stamped on either side.  I added the black lines with a fine tip marker and rounded the corner.
I am adding this to the challenge at Moxie Fab...to create a thank-you card.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Inspired by Thumbelina

The challenge at Splitcoast today had me really scratching my head.  It was to create a card based on a Fairy Tale.  Here is what I came up with.
The story of Thumbelina is about a tiny girl being born on a flower in a beautiful garden.  I used a circle mask and then stamped within it using my stamps from The Craft's Meow to represent the garden.  I  then removed the mask and stamped the sentiment then stamped, coloured and cut out the little flower girl from Stampotique...pop dotted her for interest.  I am also adding this one to the challenge at Moxie Fab which was to create a birthday card.  Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Geek is Chic

So here you go....this is the card I made for two challenges.  The first one can be seen here at CAS-ual Fridays....it is a sketch.  I am also playing along with the challenge at Moxie Fab....to create a card incorporating spectacles or eyeglasses.  I stamped the cute images from  Imaginisce onto circles and mounted as the sketch shows.  After I was all done, I noticed that I had flipped the elements in the sketch...oops, but went with it anyways.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look.
