Congrats- Crayon Rubbing

Good Morning
Can I just say how much I love the versatility of stencils.
I am always ready to see how many different ways I can use them too.
Today's card is a first for me, trying something different using this new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I've been on a mission to use some of the cast offs in my stash and I came across this one that I did while Gel Plate printing.  I had used some pink acrylic paint on my Gel plate to create the print that just didn't work out the way I wanted at the time.
  • So for this technique, I placed the Petit Four Dainty stencil down onto my Make Art station first, then placed my Gel plate print over the top of it
  • After securing it well, I took a purple crayon and rubbed over the top of the whole panel to reveal the stencil design. I was very pleased with the results.
  • I stamped the sentiment with some Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and cut that out.  I glued it onto another piece of white cardstock just to give it more strength.
  • I glued the card panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then on a piece of pink and then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I used some foam tape to add the sentiment.

Blooming Birthday

Welcome
Today's card has a fun, festive look to it.
I used the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and positioned the Mixed Shapes Stencil over that.  I inked with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted the stencil, wiped it off and placed it back down, then inked again with some Wilted Violet DOX ink.
  • I repeated that whole process one more time, inking finally with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.  By layering the colours, it made for such a fun background.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I die cut the flower and added some Peacock Feathers ink to the petals and die cut the sentiment with some purple cardstock and glues it to the white shadow die.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto a piece of dark purple and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I added the sentiment to the center with some foam tape and the flower right beside it.

Shutter Folded Jardiniere

Good Morning and Welcome to March!
Meet one of the newest stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called
I inked it up and used a new to me fun fold for my card.

So, here's what I did.
  • I put a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and placed the Jardiniere stencil over that.  I inked up the center with some Cracked Pistachio and some Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink and the outer edges with some Peacock Feathers DOX ink.
  • Next, I inked another piece of white cardstock with the same stencil and same ink colours.
  • Following  the video below, I folded one of the inked panels to create the shutter fold. It's a fun and simple fold to do and I love how it adds a frame around the center area.
  • I cut down the 2nd panel to fit into the inside and stamped the sentiment onto it before gluing it into the inside.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then some pale green and then onto a 4 1/3" square card base.
