As many of you know, we have all been in search of what to do for our blogs on Blogger as Feedburner is going away in the next few days.  

I have struggled with it all, not enough time to be on the computer to figure it all out.  It also doesn't help when I am not computer savvy in the least! 

So after having some time to spend on this, I have decided to go with Follow It.  

So with that said, all of you who have subscribed to receive email notifications of new posts on my blog should have received an email from follow.it. asking you to confirm that you want to continue to receive notifications. If you don't confirm then you will be unsubscribed and will no longer receive emails. Alternatively you can click on the follow button on the right ----> to subscribe.

Colour Wheel

So appreciate that you dropped in to see what I am up to today.

I just picked up this fun die from Paper Rose called Color Wheel Love.

I was inspired by the card I made a few weeks ago after watching one of Vicki Boutin's lives.

So here's what I did to create my card.

• I began by creating some inky backgrounds using Vicki Boutin's Art Crayons and a piece of acetate.  I simply scribbled the crayons onto the acetate, used a wet paintbrush to blend it out, then pressed onto my white cardstock.  I did add some stenciling and splatters as well to each piece. When I was finished, I had 3 inked pieces.
• Next, using a piece of black cardstock, I die cut the Color Wheel and set that aside.  
• I then die-cut my inked pieces using the same die with each inky panel I had created.
• I glued the black outline onto a piece of white cardstock as a base, then fussy cut around it.  I then glued in all the different colours, fitting them all back into place varying the colours.  
• I set that aside to dry and cut a 4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock and got out my Gel Plate.
• Using a brayer and my Distress Oxide inks, I inked up my Gel Plate and then took a print. 
• I placed the square panel into my Misti and stamped the 'Just Be Happy' sentiment from the Just Be Happy set by Visible Image, repeating it across the panel.
• I die-cut the Celebrate 3 times from white cardstock and glued those together.  Using my foam finger dabber, I added some Picked Raspberry over the die applying more at the base and fading out as I reached the top.
• I glued the Gel Plate print onto a white card base, then pop dotted the Color Wheel over that.  
• Lastly, I glued the 'Celebrate' over that.

Just popping in with a card I made using two great stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.

Before I get into the steps of making my card, I want to thank-you so much for your continued support and wonderful, uplifting comments.

I have been struggling to get it all done....visiting your blogs and trying to figure out what I will do about my Followers when Feedburner goes away in July. 

I am so busy with my little ones (5 little daycare kiddos), working long hours and not finding much time to be on the computer.  I will be coming to visit you all as soon as I can.  

If anyone has ANY helpful tips about what to do with Followers on Blogger, please let me know.  I really don't want to have to pay for a service.  I am feeling very overwhelming by it all as I am totally not computer savvy!! 

Well enough said.

Here's what I did to create my card.

• I began by cutting a white cardstock panel.  I placed the Cloud Edger Stencil from ACLD over my panel and inked it up with some Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and a hint of Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide inks.  I used a light touch as I wanted the clouds to look fluffy and not heavy.  I inked the stencil along one edge and kept moving it down until the card panel was all inked up.
• I removed the Cloud Edger and positioned the Landscape Rays over the panel and inked with more of the same inks that I had used for the clouds.

• I removed the stencil and placed the panel into my Misti.  I inked up the trees from Frog's Whiskers with some Versafine Clair ink and stamped it over the background.  
• Next, I stamped the sentiment from Daisy Bucket and added 3 black gems.
• I glued it onto a heavy white card base.

Sending Some Happy

 

Good Morning

Just sending you some happy today as I play with this sweet stencil by Vicki Boutin.

I used some of my favourite colour combinations.

So here's what I did to create my card.

• I cut a panel from white card stock and positioned the Fresh stencil over that.  I wanted to have a large open area for a sentiment, so I took a piece of scrap paper and tore it to use as a mask over the stencil.
• I began inking up the stencil using some Peacock Feathers DOX ink over just the flowers.  I added some Blueprint Sketch ink just over the flower centers to help make them pop.  I used some Cracked Pistachio to ink up the leaves next.  
• Leaving the stencil and mask in place, I splattered using my white Posca pen and set it aside to dry.
• I die-cut the sentiment from Lawn Fawn and altered it by cutting it down.  (the die actually says Sending Big Hugs but it covered too much of my card front so I cut it down)  I inked up the die-cut using some of the same blue inks in an ombre fashion.
• The panel was dry by then, so I removed the stencil and mask and placed it into my Misti to stamp the small sentiment under the masked area.
• I glued the die-cut into the masked area and added a matching blue gem to dot the 'i'. 
• I glued it all onto a white card base.

Meet today's card.

I have a few little people in my life that have birthdays coming up so here is one of the cards I made.

I thought it turned out pretty fun!

So here's what I did to create my card.

• I cut a piece of heavy white cardstock for my base.  I pulled out the Hanging Vines Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and placed it over my cardstock.  Using some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink, I inked up the stencil on the top of the panel, then moved it to the bottom and did some more inking. ** I knew what sentiment I wanted to use when I finished the inking, so I was careful to leave some space for it between the vines. **
• Next, I wiped off the stencil and repositioned it at the top and inked it up with some Peeled Paint DOX ink and repeated that for the bottom.  
• Lastly, I repeated the whole above process using some Rustic Wilderness DOX ink being sure not to totally covering the first inkings.

• I had some ink left on my blending brush so rubbed that along the edges and in the center. 
• I diluted some of the Rustic Wilderness ink and splattered all over the panel with a wet paintbrush and set that aside to dry.
• I stamped the Mini Monkey from YNS, painted it with some diluted DOX ink and die-cut it out.
• I stamped the sentiment from Studio G and clear heat embossed it to make it pop against the busy background.  
• I glued the panel onto a piece of dark green cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.
• The last step was that I pop dotted the little monkey to the one side.

Tropical Blooms

Some pretty today using this great new stencil called Layered Tropical Blooms from A Colorful Life Designs.  

Who doesn't want to think about tropical right now.  Sun, water, cool breezes, nice drink in hand....well I digress.  

So here's what I did to create my card. 

• I began by cutting a piece of white cardstock for my panel.  I positioned that into the corner of my Misti.  HELPFUL TIP: use your Misti with layering stencils to get the exact placement for each layer.  I laid stencil #1 (flowers) over my paper and rubbed on some Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks with a blending brush.  
• I removed the flowers stencil and laid down stencil #2 by simply placing it back into the corner of my Misti.  I rubbed on some Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint over the leaves.  
• I splashed on some water over the flowers to lift some of the colour and add interest.  I splattered with my white Posca pen.
• Next, I placed the panel onto my ScorPal and using my ScorBug, I added the perforated line.
• I placed it back into my Misti to stamp the sentiment. 
• I mounted it onto a piece of pink cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.
