Celebration

Let's face it.  I am addicted to watercolouring and to using my Distress inks and just playing.  I love that you can get a different look every time and since they are water based, blending is so simple.  This card was inspired by a card I saw done by Marion Vagg.  I loved it and wanted to try my hand at it.
I pulled out my Paper Smooches stamps and started inking, spraying and randomly stamping.  Love the mottled look of the stamped image.  I used Mowed Lawn; Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks on my card.
I am adding my card to the challenge at Simon Says Stamps; Anything Goes.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Warm Fuzzies

Good Monday Morning.  So grateful to see the sun shining!  Just a bit of happy today with a card I made last week using a new set from The Alley Way Stamps.  I stamped the little guy and coloured with Copics.  I added Glossy Accents to their noses for a little extra pop of colour.
Hope you have a great week and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Sympathy

So happy I have time to play along with a couple of challenges today.  The Featured Stamper challenge today at Splitcoast and the Simon Says Challenge; favourite ink.
The favourite inks is a no-brainer for me.  I love Distress inks and for my background piece I tried to create a watercoloured looking piece by painting over a mask with Distress inks and a water brush.  I love the how the colours turned out.
I want to get a few sympathy cards made...hate having to do them at the last minute.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Scenic View

Welcome to the weekend.  It is freezing here in Ontario this morning....frost on the roof.  Oh well, the sky is blue and the sun is shining and that is a blessing.
I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge today at Splitcoast (see inspiration piece below)and for the Addicted to CAS; Birthday and the Simon Says Challenge.  Simple card, masked a circle, stamped the scene and then sponged with Distress inks.  The sentiment is from a Michaels dollar bin.
I hope your day is filled with many blessings and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

OLW141- Repeat After Me

Welcome to another week for the OLW Challenge (One Layer Wednesdays).  This week the challenge is:

Repeat After Me- create a repeat background using the same stamp.

My card masculine card was created by stamping the background with the explosion stamp from The Alley Way on an angle and then just colouring one of the explosions with Copics.  I stamped the sentiment and coloured it the same then for a 'POP', I added Glossy Accents to the coloured areas.  Quick and easy and perfect for one of my little guys having a birthday.

Really hope you get a chance to play along this week.  Here are all the details:

OLW141 RULES

Sweet Smell

Morning.  Here is a card I created yesterday after playing with a mask and Distress inks.  I was pleased with the results.  Here is what I did.  I placed the mask on my paper and then instead of inking with Distress inks and an inking tool, I pressed my ink pads onto my acrylic block and using a paint brush, painted over my mask.  It gave a more blurred, watercolour effect and reminded me of a trellis.  When it was dry, I overstamped with my flower stamp from ISC.
I am entering this card in the Simon Says Challenge: favourite inks....mine of course are the Distress inks; love playing with the blue ones.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Just Chillin

Ok!  Who doesn't want to be sitting on this beach right now??  The water would be too cold yet, but sitting in the sun would be wonderful especially with a nice summer fruity drink in hand.   Oh well, a girl can dream can't she?
Today, I am playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast and here is what I came up with using a few new stamps I got a Stampfest (NOTE TO SELF: awesome and totally going again next year).
I stamped the chairs in Memento black then coloured them with Copics.  I did a wash on the bkg. to look like the water and the sand.
If you are at the beach or live near one right now, I am totally jealous.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Brighter Together

Ahhh....long weekend for us here in Canada.  Gotta love that!!  Today, I am playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast and the earrings below are what sparked my imagination.  I know what you are thinking....my imagination is a bit warped....lol.
I stamped the light bulb for the background then stamped one and cut it out.  After colouring it with Copics, I added Glossy Accents and pop dotted it for interest.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Hello

Happy Hello to you.  A quick card I made using the watercolouring technique on my stamps by colouring first with Memento markers then spraying with water before stamping.  Since these markers are water based, adding the water gives a beautifully blended colour effect.
I splattered some dark green ink on top and framed the ferns in an oval cut with a Spellbinder die.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there!

Here is a card I made for my MIL using stamps from Penny Black.  Since she has macular degeneration and has trouble seeing colours, I created this card with a black and white background so she can hopefully see the flower design.  This stamp is a square so I knew it would not cover the whole card front, so I tried to think of a way to use it to cover all.  By stamping it on an angle, I was able to achieve an interesting and different back drop for the banner and the orange flowers.
The flowers are cut and coloured and pieced from that same stamp.
Whatever you do today, I hope it's a great day filled with happy times and wonderful memories.

I Favour You!

I love gerbera daisies.  They are so filled with colour, happiness and bring me joy every time I see them!  Today at Splitcoast, one of the inspiration pieces had gerbera daisy party favours that inspired me to create this card.
I masked the panel, sponged with Distress ink in yellows, then stamped the flowers using a watercolouring technique.  I did that by colouring my stamp with different shades of Memento markers, spraying with water then stamping.  It gives such a great effect and the results are always a surprise...love that.
I am also entering this one in the Moxie Fab challenge, The Wonders of Watercolouring.

Have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by.

Caught a Bug??

Hi there and Happy Friday!!  Today's card is pretty simple and straightforward.  I played along with a challenge at Splitcoast which was to try something new....something you have never done before.  I thought I would try and emboss only parts of my background, leaving areas open for my image and sentiment.  I did that by placing my paper in the embossing folder, rolled it into my Cuttlebug a bit then moved it and rolled it again etc. etc.  The jar is coloured with Copic markers and then I applies Glossy Accents to the areas that would be glass.  It is then cut out and pop dotted for interest.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Watercoloured Poppies

Poppies are such a true sign that Spring has arrived and hopefully here to stay.  The poppies I grow in my garden are more pink but I love how these turned out so vibrant and fresh looking.
I am playing along with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast and also the Wonders of Watercolouring at Moxie Fab.  Anyone that follows my blog knows how much I love to play with this watercolouring technique as it is so easy and gives such wonderful results.
I coloured my poppy stamp using shades of red Memento markers and then sprayed with water before stamping.  That's it.
Have a great week and thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
