Fancy Heart

Welcome
I had fun creating today's card using the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called
It's a great one for creating cards for Valentine's Day or even for an anniversary or to send to a friend.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and put the Fancy Heart stencil over that.
  • Beginning at the center of the heart, I inked with some Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink.
  • Next, I used some Ripe Persimmon and then some Picked Raspberry DOX ink, blending the colours together as I went along.
  • I splattered the whole panel with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I decided not to add a sentiment as I could use this card for a lot of different occasions so I left it plain.
  • When the panel was dry, I glued it onto a piece of white, then pink cardstock and then onto an A2 sized card base.

Here is the stencil I used:

Have a Colorful Day

Good Morning
I want to introduce you to just one of the new stencils for January from A Colorful Life Designs called:

This is a great stencil that includes 4 different designed hearts and a mask included as well.
The hearts on this stencil are spaced apart which makes inking with different colours so easy.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Heart With Options stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked the first plain heart into the bottom right hand corner with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • Beside that pink heart, I inked up the next one with some Ripe Persimmon DOX ink.
  • I repeated the inking process using all the different heart designs along the top of my card panel with more of the Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and some Peacock Feathers DOX ink.
  • I splattered over the hearts with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I stamped the sentiment with some more of the Peacock Feathers DOX ink, clear heat embossed it, then die cut it out.
  • I glued the dried panel onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto a 4 1/4" square card base.
  • I popped up the sentiment with some foam tape and added 3 pearls around the sentiment.

  • I glued a piece of green polka dots paper onto a piece of red cardstock, the onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I traced the hearts from the stencil onto a piece of green and red cardstock, fussy cut them out and glued them together. I added them between the hands.

Happy Heart Flowers

Good Morning
Today's card was such a fun one to make. I think it turned out looking so happy.
I used 3 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs to make my card.
The new stencils for March are called
I layered those two together and then I added details with an older stencil called Simple Mosaic.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Heart Flowers stencil over a piece of white cardstock, then inked it up with some Peacock Feathers in the centers and some Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink along the petals of the flowers.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I layered the Curvy Path over the top of it and inked with some Villainous Potion DOX ink.  It gave the flowers a fun looking pattern.
  • I removed those stencils and then using the Simple Mosaic, I added some stenciling to the flower centers and around them using some Peacock Feathers DOX ink.
  • Next, I rubbed some Villainous Potion DOX ink onto a scrap of white cardstock and then used that to die cut the sentiment.
  • I die cut the sentiment shadow from the stenciled card front, then glued the sentiment onto it.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of mauve cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • Lastly, I used some foam tape to add the sentiment back over the center of my card base.

Love is in the Air

Morning
Meet the new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called
I decided to use them to make a non-traditional Valentine card.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and laid the Fan Blades stencil over it on my Make Art Station.  I inked it up with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the Rocky Path stencil right over it and inked with some Villainous Potion DOX ink.  It added a fun pattern to the fan blades.
  • While that dried, I inked a scrap of white cardstock with some more Peacock Feathers DOX ink and then I die cut the heart with the dots and used a paper punch to get the smaller one.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of blue cardstock and then onto a 4 1/4 inch square card base.
  • I glued the hearts over the center of the fan, then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock and used some foam tape to pop that over the hearts.

Big Love

Hello and Welcome
Meet the new for January
stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
Just in time for making some Valentine cards.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by rubbing some Broken China Distress Oxide ink onto this Embossing Folder and then ran it through my die cutting machine.  It transferred all the ink to the raised area and I was left with a fun, embossed piece for my card front.
  • I took that embossed panel and placed it onto my Make Art Station.
  • I laid the Big Love stencil over that and inked it up with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.
  • Next, I rubbed some Broken China DOX ink onto a white scrap of cardstock, splattered it with my white Posca pen and die cut the heart.
  • I glued the stenciled/embossed panel onto an white A2 sized card base and used some foam tape to pop the heart over the 'O'.

Coffee Time

Hello and Welcome
Today's card was a fun one.
I sure do love and appreciate my coffee in the morning.
I used this newly released Coffee Love stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and paired it up with this cute vintage image.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I positioned the Coffee Love stencil onto the middle of a piece of white cardstock on my Make Art Station.
  • When I was happy with the position of the stencil, I inked it up with some Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide ink.  I added some shadows to the beans by inking just over some areas with Aged Mahogany DOX ink.
  • While that dried, I stamped the image onto a piece of white cardstock with some black ink and then fussy cut it out.
  • I place the stenciled heart into my Misti to stamp the sentiment over to one side and clear heat embossed it.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of brown matching cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • Lastly, I used some foam tape to the image and popped it to one side of the sentiment.

Happy New Baby

Welcome
Today's card features this adorable newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called
Layered Bunny Faces.  Perfect for Easter or I chose to make a baby card using it.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I put a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and positioned the Part #1 of the Layered Bunny Faces stencil over that.  I inked up the pink bunnies first, down the center of the cardstock panel using some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • I cleaned off the stencil and then repositioned it to ink up the blue bunnies along the sides using some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • I removed Stencil #1 and positioned the second stencil (the face details) over the bunny heads and inked them up with some black ink....so cute
  • Next, I got out the Layered Rainbow Love stencil (January release) as I wanted to fill in some of the open areas.  Using just the hearts from that stencil and some more of the inks mentioned above, I inked up the hearts in the open areas between the bunnies.
  • I removed the heart stencil and used a pencil eraser to add the dots for fun.
  • I got out this fun die from Heffy Doodle and cut the outline of the words from the stenciled panel.  I also cut the sentiment with some white cardstock.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of white cardstock, then onto an A2 card base.
  • I glued the sentiment onto the shadow piece and then pop dotted those back into place.
