Autumn Birthday

Good Morning
Here is another card I made using this new for September stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create me card.
  • I began with a piece of grid paper and placed the Fall Foliage stencil over that.  I inked it up with Distress Oxide inks in these colours; Ripe Persimmon, Vintage Photo, Lumberjack Plaid, Rustic Wilderness and Fossilized Amber.
  • While that dried, I die cut the Grid overlay with some black cardstock then glued that over the leaves.
  • I stamped the sentiment in my Misti and die cut it with a circle die.  I glued it onto a larger black circle die cut.
  • I glued my card front onto a white A2 card base and then used some foam tape to pop the birthday sentiment near the top corner.
  • I added 3 black gems under the sentiment to finish off my card.

Webby Leaf

Hello and Welcome
Meet another one of the newest releases for September from A Colorful Life Designs called
This unique looking leaf also has a bit of a Halloween/spider web kind of look to it.

Here is what I did to create a simple card.
  • I placed the Webby Leaf stencil over a piece of white cardstock and using my ink dabbers, I simply pounced the brushes over the stencil with these Distress Oxide ink colours...Ripe Persimmon; Lumberjack Plaid; Rustic Wilderness; Cracked Pistachio; Fossilized Amber.
  • While the ink dried, I took another piece of cardstock and scored it (it doesn't show up in the photo) to use as my card front front.
  • Next, I fussy cut out the leaf and glued that over the scored card front.  I then glued that onto a piece of green cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I wanted a simple sentiment for the front, so I cut out one of the pre-printed sentiments and added it with some foam tape to finish off my card.

Beautiful Day

Welcome
The summer has been very busy but is going by way too fast.
Meet one of the new for September stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called

A great stencil with a good collection of simple leaves to have in your stash.
I paired it up with a fun stencil from last month called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and started by creating the overall background first. I placed the Mid Century Half Circle mask (August release) over my paper and inked it up with some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted the stencil, shifted it sideways and inked again with some Rustic Wilderness DOX ink.
  • Next, one by one, I used the Simple Leaves stencil to add the leaves by inking them up with some more of the Rustic Wilderness DOX ink until my card front was covered.
  • Using my white Posca pen, I splattered over the whole panel then set aside to dry.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then dark green and then onto a white 4 1/4" square card base.
  • I cut out the pre-printed sentiment and glued that onto a piece of white and green cardstock.  I added it with some foam tape across the middle of my card front.

It's the last day of September and where has the month gone.
Time for one more card using a newly releases stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by getting out my Gel Plate and I pressed a few of my Distress Oxide ink pads directly onto the plate.  The colours I used were:  Rustic Wilderness, Ripe Persimmon ande Fossilized Amber.
  • I took my brayer and blended the inks over the plate, then placed the Geometric Leaves stencil over that.
  • I took a scrap piece of paper and rubbed over the plate to lift some of the ink off, then removed the stencil and rubbed my piece of white cardstock over the plate to create the print.
  • While that dried, I die cut the thin white frame using a frame die.
  • I die cut the sentiment from a piece of pale green cardstock, then die cut the word shadow right from the middle of the stenciled panel.
  • I glued my card front panel onto another piece of green cardstock, then onto a white A2 sized card base.

Fright Night

Welcome
I'm creating some cards for Halloween and today's card features the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs that is called:
This stencil is really a fun one since it has 3 sizes of moons to use.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and secured the Moon Man stencil over my paper...I used the middle sized image.  I inked that up with some Hickory Smoke and some Black Soot Distress Oxide ink.
  • I wanted the background to have lots of interest so I masked off the moon and then placed the Cloud Edger stencil (an older release) over the moon and inked with some Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink. I kept shifting the cloud stencil down until the entire panel was all inked up.
  • I splattered with water and then set aside to dry.
  • Next, I die cut the sentiment with some black cardstock and sprayed with some Peeled Paint Distressed stain.  I cut the sentiment 3 more times and glued them all together so the sentiment would be raised.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of black cardstock, then onto a white A2 sized card base.

Celebrate Fall

Good Morning
Fall is in the air with cooler mornings.  The leaves are turning colours which inspired my card.
Meet the newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I put a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and added the Blowing Leaves stencil over that.
  • Next, I inked over the whole stencil using some Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon and some Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide ink. I thought these colours were perfect for the colours of the changing leaves.
  • I used a rectangle die to cut right from the center of the stenciled leaves and set aside.
  • I glued my large card front panel onto a piece of rust coloured cardstock, then onto an A2 sized white card base.
  • I glued the smaller die cut panel onto the same rust cardstock and used some foam tape to position it back into place over my card front.
  • I die cut the sentiment from the rust cardstock and then cut it again 4 more times with some white. I glued them all together, offsetting a bit to help the sentiment show up better against the colourful background.  I glued that over the middle of  my card front.
  • Finally, I added 3 red gems under the sentiment to finish off my card
