Feeling Blue

Hello and Welcome
Meet today's card.
I called it Feeling Blue because of the colour and not because of the way I feel although we are in another lockdown as the third wave here in Ontario is proving to be the worst so far!
I always try and stay positive and look ahead to happier days.

So onto my card details...here's what I did.
  • I began with a piece from my stash. I had inked and stenciled it I think.  Since I'm always using my Distress Oxide inks, I'm guessing I used some of my favourite colours....Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and some Blueprint Sketch.  I placed it into the Letters Embossing folder from Carabelle and ran it through my Cuttlebug.  I sanded off the letters to give it a more unique look.
  • I set that aside and got out my Misti.  Using this new to me stamp called Fragile Foliage, I inked it up with some more of the colours of Distress inks mentioned above, then I die-cut it out.
  • I die-cut the 'Thinking of You' sentiment 3 times on some heavy white cardstock and glued them together for stability.
  • I glued the sanded background onto a heavy white card base, then glued on the flowers and the sentiment.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Well I am glad it is just the color blue you are feeling. And, you certainly created a gorgeous card again with the blue. I admire the way you can do such wonders with inks. So beautiful!

I'm loving it, Karen! So glad it doesn't reflect your mood! We'll get through this, my friend!
Here's a funny story for you - reminded of it because of your 'feeling blue' comment...
As laundry day is Monday, that evening I asked my husband if he had been a bit 'down' in the past week. "Not really, why do you ask?" was his reply. I informed him that all of his undies were those in shades of blue!! What would you think?
Happy weekend, my friend!

Oh no - a third wave - such a violent virus!!
We in New Zealand have no concept of the trials you are going through - we had about 8 weeks of serious, nationwide, lockdown last year, and that's been pretty much it apart from a couple of shorter, less intense ones....
Wonderful card Karen - love all the blues, and the way you have sanded the embossing.
Stay safe and keep creating
Blessings
Maxine

We are heading in the same direction with lockdowns here in BC. I can't wait till we have the bulk of our population vaccinated, hopefully only a few more months away♥
Beautful card, love the texture of your background :)

Karen, I love the blue and white, gorgeous! And that sanded embossing is the perfect touch. I feel for y'all up there. I have 2 other art friends in Ontario and they are not happy about things either. Hoping the bureaucracy can get it together. Every country has had its own unique problems dealing with this horror. If it's not one thing, it's another. XOXO
