Good Morning
Just sending you some happy today as I play with this sweet stencil by Vicki Boutin.
I used some of my favourite colour combinations.
So here's what I did to create my card.
- I cut a panel from white card stock and positioned the Fresh stencil over that. I wanted to have a large open area for a sentiment, so I took a piece of scrap paper and tore it to use as a mask over the stencil.
- I began inking up the stencil using some Peacock Feathers DOX ink over just the flowers. I added some Blueprint Sketch ink just over the flower centers to help make them pop. I used some Cracked Pistachio to ink up the leaves next.
- Leaving the stencil and mask in place, I splattered using my white Posca pen and set it aside to dry.
- I die-cut the sentiment from Lawn Fawn and altered it by cutting it down. (the die actually says Sending Big Hugs but it covered too much of my card front so I cut it down) I inked up the die-cut using some of the same blue inks in an ombre fashion.
- The panel was dry by then, so I removed the stencil and mask and placed it into my Misti to stamp the small sentiment under the masked area.
- I glued the die-cut into the masked area and added a matching blue gem to dot the 'i'.
- I glued it all onto a white card base.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Great card and easy to understand instructions, thank you. Makes me want to get out a stencil and play.
Wonderful idea to mask off the sentiment area Karen and thank you for the tip about 'cutting off' some of the die cut sentiment....great idea x. Such a vibrant and striking card and sending happy thoughts right back to you Karen x. Thank you for all your inspiration x.

I love the way you've made the sentiment Karen, and beautiful stencil work, it's a fabulous card, Kate x
Beautiful shading on the stencil - I find that hard to do with a stencil. Love the way you did the sentiment in ombre tones.
Karen, it's clear to me that these are your favorite colors - you use them so beautifully! Love the organic edge your torn paper mask has given for the sweet spot for your fun sentiment!
Such a happy card!

This is a really pretty VB stencil with the flowers and leaves and I love the colours you have used Karen and a great idea to mask a strip for the die cut sentiment and love the ombre look using the blue inks and a small script inked sentiment and some spattering too which finish it perfectly. x
Gorgeous Karen, I love your ombre sentiment and stenciled background :)
Well now you've gotten me wanting to stencil but none of my in-process projects can even accommodate that. Maybe time for some art journalng, haha. xoxo
Oh what great work Karen - loving that stencil and the way you have used it - you had me with the blues - they are a wonderful pairing
Stay safe
Blessings
