Embrace the Moments

Good Morning.
Today's card features the newly released Intricate Diamonds stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
This stencil is a good one for creating some lovely background for your images.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I got out my Gel Plate for this one.  Using Distress Oxides on my Gel Plate is a super simple way to create any background,  Easy clean up too!
  • I pressed my Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink pad directly onto the plate, then some Carved Pumpkin in the middle and some Lumberjack Plaid on the right hand side.  Using a brayer, I blended them together.
  • I laid the Intricate Diamonds stencil over the plate and rubbed a piece of scrap paper over the plate.
  • I removed the stencil and rubbed my cardstock over the plate to create the print.  The ink dries quickly, so I was able to move onto the stamping.
  • I placed the print into my Misti and stamped the flowers along the side.
  • I splattered with my black Posca pen just over the area of the flowers.
  • I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock and inked the edges.
  • I glued the finished panel onto a piece of black cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I popped the sentiment to the side.

Always Better with You

Good Morning
Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Today's card features such a fun stencil called Square Frames.  It is another one of the great newly released stencils from A Colorful Life Designs for February.
This one is so fun as the squares overlap each other.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and positioned the Square Frames stencil over that.
  • I began at the center of the stencil and inked it up with some Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved outwards with the inking adding some Carved Pumpkin next and then some Picked Raspberry around the edges.
  • I placed the stenciled panel into my Misti and stamped over it with the background lines using more of the Picked Raspberry DOX ink. (This stamp only has a number on it and no name.  I can't find it on the Hero Arts site so it may be discontinued?)
  • Next, I splattered with my white Posca pen and dotted the circles to add interest.
  • While that dried, I stamped the sentiment in my Misti and then die cut it out.
  • I glued the dried panel onto an A2 sized card base and pop dotted the sentiment in the center.

For Baby

Welcome
Time for February new releases from A Colorful Life Designs.
When I saw this fun stencil called Crazy Circles, I wanted to use it to make a baby card.

So here's what I came up with.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and positioned the Crazy Circles stencil over it on my Make Art Station.
  • I got out some colours of Distress Oxide inks that would give a rainbow effect to my card. Beginning at the top, I inked it up with some Mustard Seed.  I continued inking up the stencil, working my way down with some Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers.
  • I removed the stencil and cut the panel into 4 pieces just to give a bit of a different look.
  • I glued a piece of heavy cardboard on the back of each cut piece to help pop it up a bit and then glued that onto a white A2 card base.
  • I die cut the sentiment with some blue and then some white and glued them together offsetting them a big.  I glued that over the stenciled background.
  • Finally, I added 3 gems that look weird in the photo because they are so reflective but they are green.

Get Well Rainbow

Good Morning
I'm sending you a rainbow of colours today with the card I created using one of the new releases for February from A Colorful Life Designs called Sound Waves.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I got out some leftover pieces of cardstock and placed one of them onto my Waffle Flower Stencil Mat.  I positioned the Sound Waves stencil over that and I inked the first one up with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink. I removed that and cleaned off the stencil.
  • I took the remaining scraps and repeated the above process using Carved Pumpkin next, Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio and finally Peacock Feathers DOX ink.
  • I cut the pieces into size and glued them one by one onto a piece of white cardstock, creating the look of a rainbow.
  • While that dried, I die cut the sentiment 3 times and glued them all together.
  • I glued the inked panel onto an A2 sized card base, then glued the sentiment over the center area.
  • Finally, I added 3 little matching gems.
