Good Morning
Time for a new theme to play along with at
Please check out the wonderful creations from our DT's this month.
Where did January go?
Time just flies by but we are hoping that maybe? you got some new goodies for Christmas or picked up a few new things at the 'Boxing Day' sales and are ready to use them.
So onto my card.
I got this great Dandelion die from my son for Christmas and wanted to feature it on my card. I decided to create an alcohol inked background to help best feature the beautiful design of this die.
I began with a piece of Yupo paper and dropped some blues and purples over the paper. I helped move the colours and blend them using some Ranger Blending solution, a straw to blow air over the piece and a Q-tip dipped in the solution.
When I was happy with the way it looked, I set it aside to dry a bit.
I wanted to add some extra interest to the background, so I searched in my stamp stash to find a similar stamp that would match the die. I then placed the piece inside my Misti, inked up the stamp with some TH Alcohol Lifting ink and pressed onto my inked background. I let that dry, then rubbed off the ink with a clean cloth.
I stamped the sentiment using some Archival ink and then glued on the Dandelion die.
The finishing touch was to add a drop of Nuvo drops to the flower heads.
I simply mounted the whole piece onto a white card base.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Congratulations. And I like the background in your current card.
I love the beautiful bright alcohol ink background you have given your white die cute dandelions, and the turquoise Nuvo drops look so pretty. Congratulations on being published once again in Craft Stamper Magazine too. x
Fabulous card I so love my alcohol inks and havent done anything for ages with it. Need to fix that when I get back home after my holiday. The colour combination is one of my favourites in the inks and then when I looked at the close up and saw that amazing addition by lifting the ink- brilliant and it totally makes the card. What a creation and then congratulations again on getting published in the magazine. Totally see why they did your cards are always so beautiful and the card they chose was one of my favourites for last year. xx Aileen

That is a really cool striped pattern you were able to accomplish with the alcohol inks! I would have gotten them all mushed together. Very pretty and congrats on your publication!
Alcohol inks have never been my friends, I gave Copic markers a try a while ago but I ended up giving all 12 of them to a friend, she was thrilled, to say the least.
You did a beautiful job with the re-inkers, I love the background for your Wild Flower dies, they are so delicate and beautiful.
Awesome job.
