A Single Rose- The Flower Challenge

Good Morning.
Here is another card for

We have a fun theme this month- Use Something New.
I hope you get a chance to check out the wonderful creations by our DT's.

I decided to create a cas card (clean and simple) with this great collage style stamp from STAMPlorations called Framed Solitary Rose that I just picked up not too long ago and have never used.

So, I stamped the image onto some white cardstock using some black Memento ink in my Misti, sprinkled on some clear embossing powder and heat set.  I stamped the image again in the same way as I wanted to cut out the flower head and add it as an overlay.
Next, I cut the first stamped piece out just along the black framed area, leaving a bit of a white border.  Using my Zigs, I watercoloured the leaves and stem of the flowers and set it aside to dry.
I took the second stamped piece and watercoloured just the flower head, again using my Zigs.
I fussy cut out the flower and pop dot mounted it over the first stamped image to give the piece some dimension and interest.
I took a piece of plain white cardstock and cut out a rectangle frame and scored along the edges for interest (sorry that's hard to see in the photo).  I simply glued the stamped image inside the framed area and added the whole piece to a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

This is a very pretty rose image Karen, and the heat embossed black stamping really makes this stand out against the white background which is made interesting by the added dry embossed lines and the rectangular frame. The colouring of the rose is beautiful and love the dimension with the added flower head layer too. x

I love this style from Stamplorations - have a few of my own, Karen, but not this one! So beautifully colored, I'd choose that rose from a dozen!

A very pretty card, Karen. I love clean and simple. The collage stamp is really nice. Your painting of the rose is what gives this pretty card impact. I love the writing behind the flower. Love the colors you used as well. Your framing techniques really show off the stamp design and your gorgeous coloring.
