Something Different

Good Morning
Meet my card.
Trying something different to get a unique look using this fun stencil called Tribal Blanket and my Distress Oxide inks.  It's good to change it up now and again and I like to challenge myself to use what I have in a new way.

I decided to give this card a 'beachy' look by creating some waves.
I began by cutting some printer paper into wavey lines to use as masks for my card front.
I placed one the wave masks onto my card, laid down the stencil and rubbed on some Salty Ocean DOX ink.
I lifted the mask and leaving some white space, masked the next area and stenciled in using the same stencil and some Peacock Feather DOX ink this time.  I repeated that process using some Blueprint Sketch and Cracked Pistachio at the bottom, each time leaving a bit of white space.
When that was all dry, I took my ScorBug which is a little tool that adds perforated dots, and scored along the wavy lines to add interest.
I die-cut the Happy Birthday sentiment 3 times from white cs, then glued them together to help give them stability and to raise them up on my card front.
I then glued it over my stenciling.
I added some Navy Sparkle Nuvo drops, then simply mounted it onto a plain white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Very cleverly done Karen and the colour combo is great, and the wavy lines break it up and give the illusion of waves so beautifully, and finished with a lovely large die cut sentiment too. x

What great stencilling Karen - it makes for a very 'busy' background :)

I adore how you used the stencil in a different way and made waves, then scored with lines for even more texture. Your colors are beachy too. Thanks for sharing this with us at Seize the Birthday.
