Fallen Leaf- CAS Watercolour Challenge

Hello and Welcome.
Time for another card for the

Great theme this month

It is also a very special month for all of us at the challenge as we celebrate 3 years!
For our birthday celebration, we are offering some great prizes to be won.

We are also so happy to welcome our guest this month:
Guest Designer:  Ros (Mikey's Mom)

Here are my card details.
I went for a walk and picked up a maple leaf, one on the smaller side so it would fit my card front.
I painted the backside of the leaf (the side with all the raised veins) with some diluted green and brown Brushos with a paintbrush and then pressed the leaf onto my heavy white cardstock.  I love how natural it looked on my paper.  I let it dry for a little bit, then I went back in with a wet paintbrush and pulled some of the colour out around the leaf to make it look like it was laying in a wet puddle.
When that was all nice and dry, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the sentiment, then splattered all over using some black acrylic paint.
I simply mounted it onto a white card base, keeping it clean and simple.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Using Brushos with a real leaf looks fantastic Karen and I love the colours and the black sentiment over the top, and the spattering and bit of colour around the leaf is very effective. x

This is beautiful, Karen and I love how you've used a real maple leaf to stamp with. Beautiful colors and I love the soft wash around it.

Using a real maple leaf for your card looks amazing Karen. Love the combination of colours. This design would be perfect for so many occasions, but especially as a sympathy card. Great work, my friend! xx
