Meet today's card.
Trying another fun and easy technique to add colour to the Altenew Lotus set I just picked up.
So, yesterday at Splitcoast Stampers, we were challenge to try out the Baby Wipe Technique. Basically, you make your own stamp pad using a baby wipe and some re-inkers. You can swipe it directly onto your card front, use it as a stamp pad or as I did, go in a different direction.
So here's what I did to create my card.
I began with a piece of mixed media cardstock. Using a baby wipe, I dropped some Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and some Faded Jeans Distress re-inkers onto it, spreading the colours out so they didn't turn to mud. I positioned the Lotus flower stamp with the solid back of the stamp facing up, onto my acrylic block. (the Lotus flower is a clear outline stamp) Using the baby wipe as a stamp pad, I inked up the back of the stamp and pressed it onto my panel. I turned the card around and repeated that process again.
I dried the wet ink using my heat tool, then placed the inked panel into my Misti to stamp the flower (in the right position this time) over the inked area.
My flowers had a very loose, watercoloured look to them and it was super simple.
I used a bit of leftover Cracked Pistachio ink to watercolour in the background using a wet paintbrush.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the same set and distressed the edges using some more of the Pistachio, then pop dotted it over the panel.
