Wheels

Hello and Welcome
Today's card is one I made for a special friend; a young boy that loves lots of action.
I thought that this fun image fit the bill.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I wanted to make a collage style background for my card.  I pulled out a variety of stamps and 3 ink colours (Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks)
  • I just randomly stamped the various stamps all over my piece of white cardstock, filling in all the areas as I went along.
  • When I was happy with the stamping, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the biker with some Versafine black ink.  I stamped it a few times to be sure to get a deep, dark impression.
  • To help make the biker stand out a bit more from the background, I diluted some Salty Ocean Distress ink with water, then watercoloured in the biker.  By filling in the open areas, it helped to make him more visible.
  • I stamped the sentiment along the bottom, glued the panel onto a piece of purple cardstock and then onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.
I so appreciate you taking the time.

Rock Star

Welcome
Meet today's card.
A very simple, one layer card I created using a stencil, my Distress Oxide inks and a couple of stamps.
I decided to create a one layer card as I haven't done one for so long....I'm also playing along with the DTGD Challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut my card base- A2 from some heavy white cardstock so my finished card was 5 1/2 x 4 1/4".
  • I wanted a nice white border around my image, so I placed the Marvelous Masks Deckle Rectangle over my paper, centering it.  I love using these masks, so simple to use and no more torn paper on the edges.  Over that I laid the Corner Rays stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and secured them on my Make Art Station with magnets.
  • Using my blender brushes, I blended on some Distress Oxide inks. (Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin)  When I was happy with the inking, I removed both masks and set them aside.
  • I placed the card into my Misti and stamped the Rock Silhouette to one side, the the Something Incredible sentiment on the other side.
  • That's it, done in no time at all

Here are the stencils I used to create my card:
