Feel the Sun on Your Face

Hello and Welcome
I decided to make a card by combining 2 new for JUNE stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed the Vibrant Sunset stencil over it.  I masked off between the waves and the sun and I inked up the sun with some Fossilized Amber and some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
  • Next, I moved the masks to cover over the sunshine. I inked up the waves with some Tumbled Glass DOX ink, shifted the stencil and inked again with some Broken China DOX ink.
  • Leaving the stencil ink place, I put the Lapping Waves stencil over it and inked with some Salty Ocean DOX ink. By adding the additional inking, the waves had so much more movement and interest.
  • I placed my card front panel into my Misti to stamp the sentiment, centering it under the sun.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of white cardstock and then onto some blue and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I added 2 black gems on either side of the sentiment to finish my card off.

Here are the stencils I used:

Show Me the Sunshine

Good Morning

Meet our new mid-month stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

I wanted to make a sunny, bright card with this stencil so here's what I did to create my card.
  • I put a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station and placed the Fractured Beams stencil over that.
  • Starting at the bottom right corner of the panel which was actually the center of the stencil, I inked it up with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • Next, I inked with some Ripe Persimmon and then finally inked along the outer edges with some Fossilized Amber DOX ink.
  • I moved the stencil slightly over and inked again with the same colours as mentioned above, creating this beautiful sunburst. (or I guess it could be a flower too)
  • I lifted the stencil off and splattered with my white Posca pen.
  • When the panel was dry, I placed it into my Misti and stamped the sentiment.
  • I added 3 black gems around the sentiment to finish my card off.

Here is the stencil I used:

My Wish for You

Good Morning
Today's card is a fun one using a new for February stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

Lots of possibilities with this one.
Good one for layering too and it's big enough for scrapbook pages.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and then measured to find the center point.
  • Instead of laying the whole Spinning Sun stencil onto my cardstock, I laid just half of it onto the middle line that I had marked on the panel, then inked it up with some Cracked Pistachio and some Uncharted Mariner.
  • I repeated that process until the whole piece of cardstock was inked.
  • Using my white Posca pen, I splattered the whole thing and set aside to dry.
  • I got out a scrap piece of white cardstock and inked that up with some more of the Cracked Pistachio and some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink and cut the sentiment from that.  I splattered that as well.  I die cut the sentiment shadow with some white and glued the sentiment into place onto that.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base and used some foam tape to add the sentiment over the middle.

Feel Better Soon!

Welcome
Meet the new for February
from a Colorful Life Designs.

Here's what I did to create my card.
  • As usual, I placed a piece of white cardstock onto my Make Art Station, added the Spinning Sun stencil and inked it up with some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink right into the center.
  • Next, I added some Broken China and then some Uncharted Mariner DOX right along the outer edges.
  • Use a circle die, I cut a circle right from the middle of the stenciled panel and set aside.
  • I splattered my card front with my white Posca pen and while that piece dried, I stamped the Get Well sentiment onto the circle and glued that onto a larger white cardstock circle.
  • I glued the panel onto a piece of blue cardstock, then glued that onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the circle sentiment back into place.

Create

Hello and Welcome
I hope you summer is going well!
I'm playing with one of the newly released stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called Warp Speed.
I decided to make a sunny card using it.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a card front panel and laid it onto my Make Art Station.  I positioned the Warp Speed stencil to one side of the panel.
  • Starting from the center of the stencil and working outwards, I inked it up with some Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feather and finally some Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink around the outer edges.
  • I removed the stencil and placed the panel into my Misti to stamp the sentiment centered on the card front.
  • I glued the finished panel onto a piece of blue cardstock, then onto an A2 white card base.
  • Finally to finish off my card, I added some black gems.

A New Day

Good Morning
Meet today's card.
I am loving playing with this Sun and Surf stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
I wanted to make a card of encouragement....I think this speaks to that.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began with a piece of white cardstock and placed the Sun and Surf stencil over it.  I masked off the top part of the stencil and then inked up the water using some Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks.
  • I moved the mask and then using some Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and a hint of Barn Door Distress Oxide inks, I inked the sunshine.
  • I removed the mask and using a circle die, I cut it out.
  • I placed the circle into my Misti and stamped the Praise Silhouette over the stenciled background with some Versafine Clair ink and then clear heat embossed it to make it pop.
  • I set that aside and cut my card front.  I placed that into my ScorPal and used my ScorBug to add some details to the background.  It added a lot of interest.
  • I glued the scored panel onto a white card base, then pop dotted the circle over that.  I pop dotted the sentiment as well.
