Zipping By to Say Hi

Good Morning
Today's cute card was made using a new for May stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I laid the Circles and Diamonds stencil flat onto my work surface and pressed my Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink pad all over the stencil until it was covered with ink.
  • I sprayed the stencil with some Rubbing Alcohol and then pressed it onto my white cardstock and left it there for a minute to let the ink soak in.
  • I dried the paper, cleaned off the stencil and placed it back over the pattern, matching it up and inked again with more of the Prize Ribbon DOX ink.
  • While that dried, I die cut the zipper with some navy cardstock.
  • I took the stenciled base and cut a small 'V' at the top and glued the zipper over the stenciled background.  I also added a small piece of white cardstock behind the zipper to show at the top.
  • I glued that onto a piece of pale grey cardstock, then onto a piece of pale blue and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I had a small piece of the stenciled base left when I cut it down, so I used that to create a small pocket.
  • I used some foam tape to add the pre-printed sentiment across the bottom to finish my card off.

Here is the stencil I used:

Beary Good Birthday

Happy Hello.
Here's a simple card I made using a background I found in my stash.
Yes, I keep saying I find these backgrounds in my stash, it is a large collection.  Often when I get time to play, I just make backgrounds, then tuck them away for a future card.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • Like I mentioned above, I looked through my stash until I found this background.  I had either embossed a Gel Plate roll off sheet or I inked the inside of the embossing folder? (I need to do a better job at writing down what I have done while creating these backgrounds.)
  • I stamped the bear from the Polar Pals set, fussy cut it out and then used my Copic markers to add colour.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the same set on a scrap strip of cardstock.
  • I glued the embossed piece to some white, then onto green cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.
  • I pop dotted the bear into the corner and added the sentiment strip along the top.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Christmas Wishes

Meet today's card.
This one is more on the masculine side.

I had a piece of woodgrain paper leftover that I had made, tutorial HERE, and die-cut it into an oval shape using a Spellbinders die.  I die-cut the deer head twice and glued the pieces together for stability and added it over the woodgrain bkg.  I cut the leaves, also from the deer set, in red and glued it below the head.
I just picked up this new stamp from SSS called the Christmas Sweater and used it for my background.  I used my Misti to get the perfect stamped impression.
Lastly, I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment and pop dotted the deer head piece with pop dots.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
