YAY...it's Your Birthday!

Good Morning
With lots of birthdays coming up, I was happy to play with 2 new for May stencils from A Colorful Life Designs. They helped me make a very festive, celebration style card.
The stencils are called:

So, here's what I did.
  • I began by picking out some colours of Distress Oxide ink for my balloons. I placed the Floating Balloons stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked them up with these colours: Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Broken China and some Cracked Pistachio.
HELPFUL TIP.....When I inked the balloons, I kept the ink to just the outer edges to add more dimension to the look.
  • When all the balloons were inked up, I removed the stencil and placed the Star Streamers down and inked again with the same colours as mentioned above.
  • For the sentiment, I looked through my scraps and found this piece done with some DOX ink on my Gel Plate and I used it to die cut the sentiment and glued that onto a white sentiment shadow.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of pale blue cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • To finish my card off, I added the sentiment over the panel with some foam tape to help pop it up.

Here are the stencils I used:

Many thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Hooray and YAY!

Welcome
As most of you already know, I love combining stencils to create fun new patterns and designs.
So for today's card, I combined 2 new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

Here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by rubbing some Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink over the back of the Circles and Diamonds stencil, sprayed with Rubbing Alcohol and pressed onto the paper.
  • Leaving the stencil in place, I rubbed some more of the Broken China DOX over the stencil, filling in the circles.
  • I lifted that stencil off and positioned the Flower Rays stencil over the background and inked it up with some Prize Ribbon and some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink. The flowers gave the background such a great feeling of energy.
  • Next, I looked through my scrap pieces of inked cardstock and found this one that I had done using Brushos on white cardstock so I used that to die cut my sentiment and glued it onto the white word shadow.
  • I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of navy cardstock and then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment over the middle of my card.

Here are the stencils I used:
Circles and Diamonds

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Good Morning
Today's card was done by layering up 2 newly released stencils for April from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the SLANTED CHEVRON stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked that up with some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the ARROWS stencil over that and inked with some Lumberjack Plaid DOX ink.
  • To add more interest, I used a dot die and cut along the white lines of the panel.
  • I glued my stenciled card front onto a piece of white cardstock, then orange and then onto a 4 1/4" white card base.
  • I found this scrap piece of Alcohol inked paper in my stash and used it to cut my sentiment. I added that over the middle of my card front to finish off my card.

Here are the stencils I used:

Cheers for You

Welcome
Meet the new for April stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • When I was at the Dollar Store, I picked up some Rainbow Scratch paper, so that was my starting point.
  • I placed the So Many Bubbles stencil down and then placed the Rainbow paper over that and secured it well.
  • Using the side of a popsicle stick, I rubbed over the whole piece until the pattern of the stencil was transferred onto the paper.
  • I repeated that process with another piece of the paper, this time using the Broken Lines stencil. I  die cut the sentiment from that piece and glued it onto a piece of black cardstock.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of yellow cardstock and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop up the sentiment over the background.

Vibrant YAY!

Welcome
I have to say that I really had some fun with the new April releases from A Colorful Life Designs.
For today's card, I used 2 of the new stencils called:

So, here's what I did to create this simple card.
  • Last time I was at the Dollar Store, I picked up some Black Rainbow Scratch Paper.  It looks totally black until a pattern or drawing is scratched into it. That was my starting point.
  • I placed the newly released Middle Square stencil down first and then put the Scratch paper over that.
  • Using the side of a popsicle stick, I rubbed over the whole stencil to transfer the pattern. Super easy and done in a jiffy.
  • I wanted the sentiment to match the panel so I took a small piece of the Scratch paper and place the Broken Lines stencil under that and rubbed over it to once again, transfer the pattern.  I used that to die cut the 'YAY'.
  • I glue my card front panel onto a piece of black cardstock and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment over the card front.

Here are the stencils I used:
