Snowy Day

Good Morning.
I had some time to play with some new stamps I received for Christmas and wanted to make a card.
I just needed to make a blue card! lol

I began by using the Splash Watercolour Technique for my background with Distress Oxide inks.  Love how those inks layer over each other.
When that was dry, I rubbed the whole piece with an anti-static bag then stamped the snowflakes with Versamark and white heat embossed them.  Using the same colour of ink as the background, I randomly stamped some snowflakes to give a shadow effect.
I splattered the whole piece with water first then white acrylic paint but it still needed some depth and interest so I used a piece of drywall tape and stenciled randomly around the snowflakes.
This new to me sentiment is wonderful, I stamped it using my Misti.  I put a drop of Nuvo in the centers of the snowflakes to finish off my card.

Hope you are staying toasty warm; its unusually cold here.
Thanks for the visit.

Adding my card to these challenges:
Simon Says Wed.- SOMETHING NEW
Little Red Wagon- WINTER WONDERLAND
Shopping Our Stash- WATERCOLOR
 The Male Room- NEW BEGINNINGS
(beginning the year with new stamps especially this sentiment
one that speaks to me)

Inks- Tuxedo Black Memento; Versamark; Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers;
Faded Jeans Distress Oxide (TH)
Paper- heavy white (local store)
Accessories and Tools- Misti; white eb powder; drywall tape, Mister (TH); white acrylic paint;
