Welcome
So glad you stopped by to see what I've been up to.
Here is another holiday card I made with a fun background....easy to do too.
So here's what I did to create my card.
- The background on this card was very simple to create and took only minutes. It was inspired by a challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. Using a piece of vellum, I coloured the whole piece with different colours of Copic markers. *You must use an alcohol based marker for this to work*
- After I was happy with the colouring, I added Rubbing Alcohol with an old paintbrush to make the colours blend. I set that aside to dry.
- Using the Wonky Stitched die, I cut a frame and then the sentiment from some white cardstock.
- I glued the dry piece of vellum onto a piece of white cardstock, then glued that behind the die cut frame.
- I glued the sentiment over the frame along the bottom leaving room for the snowflake to fit.
- I die cut a snowflake and glued that into the top corner.
- I added foam tape to the whole back of the framed piece and glued that onto a heavy white card base.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

This is a fantastic background technique, Karen. It's so pretty with the white frame and die cut sentiment!
A very lovely background - really sets off the pretty dies! Thanks so much for playing at Sparkles!
I love it! I think I could do something similar with alcohol inks on vellum. And of course, I LOVE the color combo.
Beautiful colours and a great idea to us alcohol markers and some rubbing alcohol to get this interesting finish, and love the wonky stitches frame and a lovely large sentiment and snowflake with that very pretty blue centre and pearl. A fantastic Christmas make Karen. x
Karen, this is gorgeous. I love it. [Bunny]

What a fabulous background Karen - and you would get more control over the colours using Copics verses alcohol inks. A wonderful card
Stay safe
