Wishing You the Best

Hello and Welcome
Today's card is a simple one.
I used 2 new stencils together, layering them to create a fun designs.
So meet the newly released stencils, both from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Square Cut Out stencil onto a piece of white cardstock.  I inked the top left hand area and the bottom right hand corner with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • Leaving the stencil in place, I inked the top right hand and the bottom left hand sides of my card front with some Salty Ocean DOX ink.
  • I placed the Abstract Swirls stencil right over the top of the first stencil and inked again with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.
  • I splattered the panel with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I stamped the sentiment and die cut it into a circle.  I die cut 2 squares one from white cardstock and the other from some blue and glued those 2 together.
  • Next, I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of blue cardstock and then onto and A2 sized card base.
  • Finally, I used some foam tape to pop the circle sentiment over the squares.

Here are the stencils I used:

Paper Piercing with Stencils

Good Morning
A Colorful Life Designs has just released some great new stencils for May and when I saw this one, I knew right away what I wanted to do to create with it.

Meet the new stencil called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of black cardstock and placed the Airy Swirls over my paper.
  • Next, instead of inking up the stencil, I got out my paper piercing tool and I poked holes through the stencil onto my cardstock.  Just another way to get more mileage using your stencils.
  • I removed the stencil and glued the black cardstock onto a white A2 card base.
  • I die cut the sentiment in black and the word shadow in white and glued them together.
  • I added the sentiment to the card front with some foam tape and then added 3 silver gems.

Here is the stencil I used:

Something Different

Welcome
I'm calling this post 'Something Different' because it's just that for me.
Trying out a new fold for my card base....so easy but gives a different look.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I decided to challenge myself to create a different style of card.  In the end, it was so super easy that I will be doing it again.  I began by making a standard card base that was 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" when folded.
  • Next, I scored and folded the front side panel in half. It creates a 'Z' fold card.
  • I found this piece of painted cardstock that I had done on my Gel Plate and thought it would look nice as the base colour.
  • I cut it and adhered it to the outside folded part of the panel and also to the inside of the card base.
  • After I had the blue gel print glued to my card base, I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed the Paper Swirls stamp into my Misti.  I sprayed the stamp with lots of water, then pressed it onto my cardstock.
  • I sprinkled on some Brushos and let dry completely.  I love the look as the colour bursts to life with the Brushos.  For those of you that are wondering what Brushos are, they are little crystals filled with lots of pigment, that are activated by spraying with water.
  • When it was all dry, I brushed away the excess Brushos, leaving behind this lovely stamping.
  • I placed it into my Misti again and stamped the sentiment.
  • I glued the inked piece onto some lavender cardstock and then glued it just to the front fold of the card base. (finished size was 3 x 4 1/4")
  • I added 3 black gems to finish it all off.

A really simple fold to do and still room to write on the inside of the card.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
