HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026!!
Today's card is the first for this year.
It features just one of the newly released stencils from A Colorful Life Designs called

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed the Interconnected Circles stencil over a piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.
  • Next I placed the background into my Misti and stamped the snowflake into one corner, turned the card around and stamped again in the other corner with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.
  • I randomly stamped the little snowflakes over the background with more of the Peacock Feathers DOX ink to add more interest.
  • I stamped the sentiment into the bottom corner with some Verasafine Clair ink.
  • I glued the stenciled panel onto a piece of light blue cardstock and then onto an A2 sized card base and added the blued gems to the middle of the snowflakes to finish off my card.

Wishing you good health, happiness and many blessings.
I'm looking forward to a year filled with fun and lots more creativity.
Let's start the year off with a newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I placed a piece of black cardstock onto my Make Art Station and rubbed the whole thing with an anti-static bag.
  • I then placed the Five Rings stencil over the bottom corner and inked with some Unicorn White ink.  I moved the stencil to the open area at the top corner and inked again.
  • I sprinkled the whole piece with white embossing powder and heat set.
  • I added some white splatters with my Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • Using some silver textured cardstock, I die cut the sentiment.  I cut the sentiment again 2 more times with some white cardstock and glued them all together.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Holiday Season and that you were able to find much peace and happiness.

Meet today's card.
Time to show you one of the new stencils for the New Year from A Colorful Life Designs called
I love doing stencil layering to create unique and interesting designs so I paired it up with the Jewel Snowflake to see what I could come up with.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I got out a piece of white cardstock and placed it onto my Make Art Station.  I positioned the Fancy Doily stencil over the cardstock and inked it up with some Broken China Distress Oxide ink.
  • Leaving that stencil in place, I put the Jewel Snowflake right over it and then inked it again but this time with some Uncharted Mariner DOX ink.
  • I removed both stencils and was left with this lovely design.
  • Next, I splattered with my white Posca pen and let dry.
  • When it was dry, I placed the stenciled panel into my Misti, stamped the sentiment and then clear heat embossed it.
  • I glued the panel onto some white cardstock, then onto a piece of navy and then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • Finally, I added 3 silver gems around the sentiment.

Here are the stencils I used:

A New Year

Hello and Welcome
I hope your first few days of the New Year have been happy ones.
I had a few days off so was glad to have some time to play with some new Christmas goodies.
I was inspired by a video I watched and decided to try and make my first 'mini' slimline card.
Super easy to make but may be difficult to find the right size envelope so I will add how I made one at the end.
A standard Slimline card is size is 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 whereas a Mini Slimline is 6" x 3".

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by embossing a piece of heavy white cardstock using my new Snowy Forest eb folder.  I ran it through my machine to get a good impression.
  • I wanted to add colour so I got out my brayer and rolled some Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink along the bottom where the trees are.  I cleaned off my brayer and then added some Rustic Wilderness DOX ink over the middle area, overlapping the colours a bit.
  • Finally at the top, I brayered on some Salty Ocean DOX ink to give the sky a hint of blue.
  • While the ink dried, I cut my card base.  For my mini slimline the white cardstock was cut 6 x 6" and scored at 3"and folded in half.
  • I then took the embossed panel and cut it in half so I could make 2 slimline cards (another one coming soon) using the one embossed/inked piece I had made.
  • I glued it to one side of a piece of white cardstock, then onto a dark green that looks black here and finally, onto the white card base.
  • I stamped the sentiment and circle from a new Avery Elle set I got for Christmas using some more Rustic Wilderness ink in my Misti, then die cut out the circle and pop dotted it off to the side.

ENVELOPE:
  • The envelope to mail this card is very simple.  I used my Envelope Punch Board to create it.
  • I cut my lightweight white cardstock to 8 1/4 x 8 1/4".  (I used the lightweight cs as it is easier to fold and not as stiff as the heavy.)
  • I placed it into my Envelope Punch Board and punched the first mark at 3 1/8" and scored along the marked line.  I rotated my cardstock and followed the instructions, continuing around until my envelope was made.  It is so simple to do using this Punch Board.  You can make any size envelope. All the measurements are included on the front of the board.

Here is a picture of the Envelope Punch Board:

Happy New Year 2022

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Good Morning.
Time to celebrate a New Year with new beginnings and hopefully good health and happiness!

Here's a simple card I made using stencils from ACLD.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by getting out my Stencil Mat from Waffle Flower....a fairly new to me tool that I am loving to stencil on.  It is a silicone mat that holds your paper and stencil nicely in place.
  • I positioned the Happy New Year stencil over my white cardstock.  Starting at the top, I applied Distress Oxide inks in this order:  Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Crackling Campfire, Barn Door, Peacock Feathers Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio.
  • To add more interest, I left that stencil in place and positioned the Cozy Knit stencil right over the top of it, doing a stencil on stencil technique.  I inked from top to bottom again.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry.
  • I cut another white panel and using the Cozy Knit stencil again, I used the same colours of Distress Oxide inks and stenciled up the whole panel but this time I reversed the colours.  I glued that onto a heavy white card base.
  • I fussy cut the Happy New Year out, then pop dot mounted it onto my stenciled card panel.

Happy New Year

Meet today's card.
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas.
With the New Year almost here, I created a quick and easy card.

I began by using the snowflake stencil from SSS and rubbed Tumbled Glass Distress ink over the top.
To add some more depth and interest, I left the stencil in place and using various sized circle stamps, I stamped over it using darker shades of Distress inks.
I splattered on some acrylic paint, more blue ink and lastly some water to lift a bit of the colour.
I stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches in the bottom corner.
To add to the festive, celebration theme, I applied some shiny Nuvo Drops over some of the small circles.
