Miss You

Good Morning
Isolation and having some free time has inspired my card making again.
So here is another card I made using some leftover acrylic paint that were sitting on my mat.

Like I have mentioned in previous posts, I hate to waste ink and paint.  So after I was finished making this card, I had ink left over on my palette and mat.  I didn't want it to go to waste, so I grabbed a credit card, picked up the ink with it and spread it randomly over my card front.  If you find that the paint is beginning to dry a bit, just give it a spray of water and you will be good to go.  With ink still on my mat, I picked up a small plastic cup and rolled the rim in the wet paint and pressed that over the inked background to add the circles for interest.
When the ink was dry, which took no time at all as it is spread so thin, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the flowers from Magenta and the sentiment from Penny Black.

I simply mounted it onto a piece of heavy white cardstock, then onto a white card base.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Gather

Welcome

Fall arrives tomorrow.
I can't believe how quickly the summer has past, but I welcome the splendor that is all the Fall colours.  That is what inspired my card today.
I decided to create a card for Thanksgiving.

I began by making the background, using a piece of heavy white cardstock.
I used a credit card dipped into some DOX inks and I dragged the ink across and down my card front.

It's easy and fun to do.

When I was happy with the coverage of ink, I placed the piece into my Misti and stamped the trees using some black ink.
Next, I took a piece of black cardstock and stamped the sentiment from IO with Versamark and then white heat embossed it.  I cut it out and then popped it over the trees.
I mounted the piece onto some orange cardstock, then onto a heavy white card base.

Tranquil

Good Morning and Happy Saturday.
Meet today's card.
One of the quickest cards I have ever made.  You gotta love when a stamped image can stand on it's own over a very simple, inky background.

So here's what I did.
I began by placing the large rectangle acrylic mask from A Colorful Life Designs over my white cardstock.  I use these masks almost every time with great results and love the 'framed' look with the white border it gives to my cards.
I rubbed some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink onto my non-stick craft mat, sprayed with a bit of water then picked up the colour with an old credit card.  I applied some Peacock Feathers in the same way with the credit card.  There was some ink left on my mat so I picked it up with a piece of acetate and applied it to my card front.
You can read more about these techniques here and here.

When it was dry, I place the inked background into my Misti and stamped this great looking bird from Magenta and then clear heat embossed.
I removed the mask and mounted it onto a piece of coordinating cardstock then onto a plain white card base.
