Wishing You the Best

Good Morning
I had fun layering 2 new for May stencils from A Colorful Life Designs to create my card for today.
Meet 2 of the new stencils called:

So, here's what I did to create this simple card.
  • I placed the Circle of Lines stencil over a piece of white cardstock and secured it well.  I masked off one area of the stencil and inked with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink.
  • I moved the mask to the next section and inked with some Peacock Feathers DOX ink.
  • I repeated that process and inked with some Ripe Persimmon and some Mustard Seed DOX ink.
  • Leaving the stencil in place, I inked the Outline Daisies into each section of the different colours using some black ink.
  • I cut a white and a larger blue circle, glued those together and stamped the sentiment into the center.
  • I glued my card front panel onto a piece of white cardstock and then onto a piece of blue, then onto a white A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the sentiment over the middle of my card front.
  • Lastly, to finish off my card, I added black gems to the middle of the flowers and 3 under the sentiment.

Here are the stencils I used:

A Single Flower Notecard

Good Morning
A simple card this morning using a newly released stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called:
This is a 2 flower stencil but for today's card, I used just one of them.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by getting out my Gel Plate and I pressed my Distress Oxide ink pads directly onto the plate, then blended them together using a brayer.  The colours I used were Villainous Potion and some Uncharted Mariner.
  • Next, I laid the Retro Flower Duo stencil onto my plate and pressed a piece of cardstock over that to create the flower print.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and set aside to dry. When it was all dry, I die cut it using a large circle die.
  • I took another piece of white cardstock and inked it up with some more of the Villainous Potion DOX ink and then I used an embossing folder to add some texture.  I lightly sanded off some of the raised areas to give it more interest.
  • I glued the embossed piece onto a 4 1/4" square white card based and then I used some foam tape to pop the flower up.
  • To finish my card off, I added some silver gems onto and around the flower.

Here is the stencil I used:

Try It On Tuesdays

Welcome
Today, I have the pleasure of being the guest designer at the

The theme is a fun one:
EMBOSS IT

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and beginning at the top of the paper, I blended these Distress Oxide colours together: Fossilized Amber/ Ripe Persimmon/ Picked Raspberry/ Cracked Pistachio/ Peacock Feathers.
  • Next, I embossed the panel with a 3D Burlap folder.  Using a sanding block, I gently sanded over the embossing to add a bit more interest and reveal a bit of the white cardstock.
  • I laid the Dot Circle  Dot Circle stencil (one of my favs) over the embossed panel and inked with the same colours as mentioned above.
  • I die cut out the little paint brushes and glued them together.
  • I stamped the sentiment in my Misti and then die cut it out.
  • I glued the embossed panel onto a piece of white, then pink cardstock and finally onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I glued the little paint brushes onto the card front and used some foam tape to add the sentiment.

Very Merry

Welcome
I'm combining 2 stencils today to create a fun background.
I used the Halftone Circle stencil with the Classic Snowflake from
A Colorful Life Designs.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and placed it onto my Make Art Station.  I put the Classic Snowflake stencil over my paper and inked it up with some Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide ink.
  • I lifted that stencil off and placed the Halftone Circle stencil over the inked snowflakes and then inked that stencil with some Crackling Campfire DOX ink.  I rotated the stencil and inked again just to fill in some of the open areas.
  • I rubbed some Lumberjack Plaid ink onto a scrap of white cardstock, splattered with my white Posca pen and then die cut the letters from that.
  • Next, I die cut a circle and glued the sentiment onto that and stamped the holly branches.
  • I glued my card front onto a piece of dark red cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I used some foam tape to pop the circle over the background.
  • Finally, I added some silver gems under the sentiment.

Wispy Floral

Welcome
I had fun playing with this new Wispy Floral stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
Just a little break from making cards for the holidays.
I paired up this new stencil with an earlier release called Atoms.

So, here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by getting out my Gel Plate, brayer and some Distress Oxide ink.
  • I pressed my Tumbled Glass DOX inks pad directly onto my Gel Plate and used my brayer to blend it smooth.
  • I placed a die cut paper ring onto my plate first, then I placed the Atoms stencil onto my plate and gently pressed it down to make contact.
  • I carefully lifted off the stencil and the paper ring and rubbed some white cardstock over my plate to get the print.  You can see the white ring created by adding the die cut circle ring.
  • Next, I looked through my Marvelous Mask Circles to find the size I wanted and placed that within the circle created on my Gel plate.
  • I laid the Wispy Floral stencil over the circle and inked that up with some Villainous Potion DOX ink.
  • I removed the stencil but left the circle mask in place and added a bit of ink just along the edges to accentuate the circle shape.
  • I stamped and die cut the sentiment, then glued the stenciled card front onto a piece of purple cardstock, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • Finally, I added the sentiment with some foam tape.

Here are the stencils and masks I used:

Split Circle

Good Morning
Meet the May newly released Split Circle stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.
Lots of different ways to use this one.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I cut a piece of white cardstock and positioned the Split Circle stencil over that on my Make Art Station, tilting the whole stencil to one side.  I inked up over the stencil with some Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink.
  • Next, leaving the stencil in place, I positioned the Spring Foliage stencil over that and inked with some Villainous Potion DOX ink.  Layering the 2 stencils gave such a fun looking background.
  • I splattered with my white Posca pen and let dry.
  • When the panel was dry, I placed it into my Misti to stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts.
  • I glued the piece onto some white cardstock, then purple, then onto an A2 sized card base.
  • I added 3 black gems around the sentiment.

Colour Wheel

Welcome to the weekend.
So appreciate that you dropped in to see what I am up to today.

I just picked up this fun die from Paper Rose called Color Wheel Love.
I was inspired by the card I made a few weeks ago after watching one of Vicki Boutin's lives.

So here's what I did to create my card.
  • I began by creating some inky backgrounds using Vicki Boutin's Art Crayons and a piece of acetate.  I simply scribbled the crayons onto the acetate, used a wet paintbrush to blend it out, then pressed onto my white cardstock.  I did add some stenciling and splatters as well to each piece. When I was finished, I had 3 inked pieces.
  • Next, using a piece of black cardstock, I die cut the Color Wheel and set that aside.
  • I then die-cut my inked pieces using the same die with each inky panel I had created.
  • I glued the black outline onto a piece of white cardstock as a base, then fussy cut around it.  I then glued in all the different colours, fitting them all back into place varying the colours.
  • I set that aside to dry and cut a 4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock and got out my Gel Plate.
  • Using a brayer and my Distress Oxide inks, I inked up my Gel Plate and then took a print.
  • I placed the square panel into my Misti and stamped the 'Just Be Happy' sentiment from the Just Be Happy set by Visible Image, repeating it across the panel.
  • I die-cut the Celebrate 3 times from white cardstock and glued those together.  Using my foam finger dabber, I added some Picked Raspberry over the die applying more at the base and fading out as I reached the top.
  • I glued the Gel Plate print onto a white card base, then pop dotted the Color Wheel over that.
  • Lastly, I glued the 'Celebrate' over that.

Warm Thoughts- The Flower Challenge

Hello and Welcome back.

Time for a reminder card for

You still have time to play along with us.

This month we are using some of the gorgeous images created by

She is also our Guest this month and has offered a prize of two of her lovely digital designs for our lucky winner!  She has some really beautiful designs in her store.  If you click on her name above, it will take you there.

Our design team will be using some of them for their shaped cards this month too!

So here's what I did to create my card.
This month, we are using Alex's digital images for our cards and the one I am using is called Christmas Frame.  So I took the digi and opened it into my 'Paint' program on my computer.  I sized it bigger as I wanted to use just one of the flower images on my circle card and printed it out.

Next, using my largest Spellbinder circle die, I cut out a circle card base.  When I laid my die onto my folded cardstock, I left it up a bit so that the top would stay intact and together on the fold to create the circle base.
I set that aside and cut a smaller circle that fit inside.  I fussy cut out my digi and coloured it using my Copic makers, then fit it within the smaller circle die cut.
I glued it all together, added the embossed sentiment with pop dots and some blue sequins.
The finishing touch was to add some shiny Nuvo drops to my flower center.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Add Spots or Stripes- The Flower Challenge

Good morning.
Time for another fun theme at

We are being sponsored by Top Flight Stamps this month. They are kindly giving our winner an e-gift card for $25. Please check out there website as they have some amazing crafty things there.
Our guest this month is Tracy from whoistracy.

Here are my card details.

I began by placing this small circle stencil called Pick up Sticks...fun eh?  It's a smaller stencil so no need to mask the areas around.
Using some Carved Pumpkin DOX ink, I rubbed the center of the stencil then added some Candied Apple around the edges.  I removed the stencil and placed the piece into my Misti to stamp the flowers and this great sentiment from STAMPlorations.
To help pull the whole design together, I doodled in a line around the circle.
I simply mounted it onto a piece of orange cs then onto a heavy white card base.

Thanks so much for coming and taking a look.
